Pilates Teacher & Founder of TRU Center
Alicia Gilbert has been a teacher and trainer in the health and fitness industry for over 25 years, dancing at 16 and teaching fitness classes since 18. She found Pilates in 1998, got certified in 1999 at the Harvard of Pilates schools, The Pilates Center, and opened a studio, Full Circle Pilates, in Hermosa Beach, Ca., in 2001. In 2006 she brought her capabilities from her experience in the film industry together with health and fitness and started producing wellness retreats. In 2008 she took a 2 year sabbatical for spiritual training and returned in 2010 with new insights and vigor!… Since then she has been developing TRU Center Training…
Alicia started taking dance at 16, and quickly realized this was her passion. She also realized that to be competitive, she needed more strength to catch up to those who started in the normal age range… So she hit the gym, and at 18 she was teaching fitness classes, then at 19 she was an apprentice of a ONE to ONE training program… She continued her dance studies at the University of The Arts in Phila., Pa. then moved to La to make a career in dance. She continued her studies of health, fitness, and nutrition, yet through early stages of her dance career, she kept injuring her hamstring. Until, a fellow dancer told her about Pilates… She tried it, and that was it! After taking Pilates for only 3 months she was already stronger than ever!

As a high school and early college athlete turned model/actor, raised in a family of nurses and medics, my passion for the fitness and emergency medical fields burns strong. I have pursued studies in these respective areas over the last fifteen years in the free time my modeling career afforded me. At this point in my life I am ready to dive deeper into emergency medicine and feel that my life experience has taught me to be compassionate, approach matters with a calm open mind, and work seamlessly with others while in high stress situations.
